There first three can be done as long as you progress and finish the game (the first one, AKA Bad Ending is even before finishing the game). The problem with these items is that the game doesn't tell you how many of those you have, it only shows you their icons if you have at least one of them.Īnd about the endings: There are 3 endings and a hidden one. Matches are to give you more visibility (as your range of vision is quite limited) and chocolates give you more walking speed that mostly help you to save time when going to a certain place, or when getting chased. There are 2 healing items: Matches and chocolates. Puzzles designed for common people, and instead we get some of them that seem to be made for people experienced in solving puzzles. Also, this game's puzzles suffer from something many other indie horror games stumble on: Actually, the amount of puzzles are like the replaceent for battles in this game. If you like the old Resident Evil Trilogy and Silent Hill 1 (all of them in PS1) then you might like this game like me, otherwise it could be quite annoying and tiresome. You can only escape or avoid enemies, though this is usually easy to do unless you're getting chased. The gameplay might be the bad part of the game as there are some points that could be a deal breaker for some people: The music is mostly songs in piano and the only words I can say about them are: Simply beautiful. The art has a quite old-school vibe to it, but this isn't just the style of the artist as there's a purpose behind it: To show the characters in a similar style to how those fairy tales would do many decades go. and it gets even more twisted later on, but somehow it doesn't reach a "gruesome level" most other similar games touch. Also, it's quite convoluted and bizarre at first. This game is different other similar ones because it focuses entirely on the story, telling us bits of it through pieces of diaries and analogies from children tales and the book "Faust", from Johann Wolfang von Goethe. It has what you would usualy expect from a 2D horror game: Chases, enemies (though there's a very little variety), tons of puzzles, many documents (many many documents) and a pretty good story.
